Sigma Foundation
Money is collected at most alumnae functions with a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are sold for a drawing in which the winner receives 50% of the money and the foundation the other 50%.
Blair's Foster Socks
In keeping with our motto of 'Sigma Serves Children', our spring philanthropy is Blair's Foster Socks. Blair's family cared for foster children and Blair always wondered why they came to her family without socks. Blair's plan to start an organization to collect socks for foster children stopped short when she was accidentally killed by a bullet shot into the air on the 4th of July, 2011. In her memory, her family started the program. Starting in 2012, KCAC collects new infant and small children's socks at spring meetings and Founders' Day for Blair's Socks.

Hope House, a Shelter for Abused Women and Their Children
Our alumnae chapter collects items for Hope House at our Fall Meeting and, along with Nu chapter members, we volunteer by giving parties for the children. Starting in 2012, we have hosted parties for the children at each of the two locations in the GKC area. Alumnae provide cookies and juice drinks and the collegians help with a craft, play games and read stories to the children.

Harvesters Community Food Bank
In January, Kansas City Alumnae Chapter volunteers at Harvesters, the local food bank. In our three years, we've sacked sweet potatoes, boxed apples and sorted contributions into the appropriate bins. We invite collegians from the area to join us in this project.
